As a women's organization, we recognize the need to build a
community promoting equality, while at the same time celebrating
diversity.
As a lesbian organization, we recognize the significance of
advocating lesbian empowerment, especially in venues where the
government does little to advance policies and programs beneficial
to the local lesbian and gay community.
A society where all peoples, regardless of gender, gender expression,
culture and race, unite and work together to uplift human dignity
Our purpose is to D.E.S.I.R.E., which means:
DEVELOP a community of lesbians supporting gender issues
EDUCATE about diversity and emphasize lesbian empowerment
SUPPORT campaigns for equality
INITIATE the founding of a Diverse Womyn Development
Center
RAISE monetary funds to support our projects
ELIMINATE homophobia and all other forms of oppression
and exploitation directed against women, especially those who
identify themselves as lesbians
